Ahem. Howdy. So, who managed to snare a copy of The Racontuers debut 7 inch single this week? Gonna keep mine minty fresh for years before hawking it on E-Bay to sustain my crack habit (nah, it'll be a sherbet habit. Wizz Fizz....mmmmm).If you haven't heard either of the two tracks, Store Bought Bones and Steady As She Goes, then head over to Zombies Ate My Blog for a tasty treat.

* Another series of The Simpsons on DVD, another well spent 30 quid. Check the commentaries on Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming and Mother Simpson (especially the former, with explanations as to the many Dr Strangelove and Failsafe references contained within)

* Giant Rabbit!

Album of the week
Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins - Rabbit Fur Coat

Well, indie rock's queen has taken some time off from breaking boys hearts around the globe with Rilo Kiley. Yes, she's breaking boys hearts around the globe with The Watsons Twins instead. Lewis mines memories of her early days as a child actor (as well as more songs about love, plus a Travelling Wilburys cover to boot) to come up with an album that refuses to budge from the Major Leaguer stereo. A delight from start to finish.

Jenny Lewis. Nope. Don't like her. Don't like her samey-samey psuedo-indie music, don't like her ubiquity (showing up on the Postal Service record and on the soundtrack of every bloody TV show I like), don't like her mannered delivery and mannered dress sense. Don't like the fact that she used to date Jake Gyllenhaal (that maybe 99% of the reason actually...)and that guy from Newsradio. She just seems like one of those women boys inexplicably love but women can't stand. Ergh!

I love Jenny Lewis, and I'm not ashamed to say it. My copy of her album came with a handwritten note. I've emailed dozens of times with the Watson Twins.

I know, that's as close as it's gonna come, but hey. We can't pick these battles.
